Digital learning increases access to education and knowledge while empowering students with a mindset and capabilities that set them up for success in their pre-sent and future. Plenty of data suggests that simply giving learners access to de-vices doesn’t necessarily lead to better outcomes; thoughtful integration and ac-tively adopting a digital mindset is needed for digital learning to truly enhance the overall student experience.
Children regularly coming to the centers showed interest in learning computers. The CRY decided to open digital learning centers in these areas. Children who do not have access to computers are learning computer courses in this center. Wom-en who were uneducated too joined these digital learning centers. IT course certi-fied by NIIT is being offered to the children.
A 17-year-old girl named Asma started coming to the digital learning Center and was eager to learn everything all at once. Asma has completed her class 12th and was searching for a job as her family was struggling financially. Asma lives with her parents and has two elder sisters who are married. Her father used to work at a factory but couldn’t continue as he broke his leg while working in the factory. He did not get any compensation and had to sell off his house to meet the ex-penses of the surgery.
His family members help him financially, but the money is not enough to sustain their living. Asma started searching for a decent job after finishing her twelfth class but is not allowed to go too far. The job she was getting near her home re-quire computer skills which she did not know.
Asmais a regular at coming to the resource center and as soon as Asma heard about the DLC, she was the first one to enroll herself. She was eager to learn. She used to stay even after the classes and spent extra time to learn computer. She borrowed a book from the resource center and learnt as much as she can. After one month of joining the DLC, she reapplied and got the data-entry job nearby to her home. She dreams to learn the advanced lever computer and work with a company. She also wants to pursue a degree in computer engineering which she will apply for in the upcoming session.
