Empowering Girls with Self Defense

Many years have passed since our country has liberated, but even today the girls in most of the places of our country are still victims of the mental slavery of many people.

This is not a story but it is a hard reality of two communities in Indore city named Rahul Gandhi Nagar and Khajrana. Here many girls got pressurized by their families to stop going to school as soon as girls reach the age of 13-14 years.

The main reason behind this is the fear of the parents about the security of their daughters when they used to go to school.

There are various incidences reported in the community when girls come across with the various abusing comments used by the boys when girls start their journey from home to School. As soon as girls share these incidences with their families, parents advise them to stop education as the best solution.

How weird is this that the misbehaver of the boys and punishment getting by the innocent girls who are willing to study.

AAS in the month of September 2020 started a discussion with some girls about the self-defense training. This discussion was held with about 150 girls, in which 110 girls expressed their enthusiasm regarding this training.

AAs found Ayesha, who is a black belt trainer in the community and offered her associate with AAs to train the girls of her community. Ayesha gladly gave her approval to start this proposal in Khajrana. Akash from nearby colony of Rahul Gandhi Nagar joined hands with AAs to implement self-defense training in Rahul Gandhi Nagar.
